All Persons Invited to Meetings in Albany Jan. 29-Feb. 1, Replaces School Program
An approach to good government, without regard for party ties, will be sponsored in Albany Jan. 29 through Feb. 1 by the New York State Young Republican Association.
President Joseph F. X. Nowicki, of Pearl River, announced today that a “Youth Forum” will be held, with all persons interested in good government welcome regardless of political affiliation.
He said the forum will replace the annual “School of Politics” previously sponsored by the association. This school has emphasized Republican principles and effective ways of strengthening the Republican Party.
Mr. Nowicki, told the Board of Governors, meeting in the Statler Hilton, the forum will include meetings with state representatives, watching the Legislature in action, tours of administrative offices and lectures by department heads.
“There will be no party politics. The stress will be entirely on better government,” Mr. Nowicki said.
It is hoped there will be a wide attendance by young business executives, labor union leaders and college students.
Friday evening, Mr. Nowicki asserted that the association is “solidly behind” Gov. Rockefeller in whatever political aspirations he may have.
He credited the governor with giving greater recognition than any previous governor to young members of the Republican Party.
He said: “By affording this group an opportunity to participate actively in the state government, Gov. Rockefeller has aroused a greater interest among the membership in seeking public office.”
