Temperature Drop Of 30 Degrees in 3 Hours Forecast

Rain, Snow Squalls To Recede Tomorrow, Leaving Mercury In 20-Degree Range

An abrupt temperature change, delayed Friday night, was due to sweep across Western New York this afternoon, dropping temperatures about 30 degrees within three hours, with rain and snow flurries.

Weatherman Ben Kolker predicted a “ground covering — about an inch — of snow” in the Buffalo area. Accumulation overnight in Southern Erie, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties will be from 3 to 6 inches, he predicted.

Temperatures near 30 degrees this evening — down from the 10AM reading of 64 — can bring slippery driving conditions, Mr. Kolker warned.

The snow squalls will “taper off” tomorrow morning. The temperature will dip to the low 20s early in the morning and will remain in the middle 20s during the day, Mr. Kolker said.
