Dry Cleaners to Offer Tips On Synthetic Fabric Care

The development of synthetic fabrics has complicated the job of dry cleaning and has made education the major theme of Niagara Frontier Dry Cleaning Weeks, starting tomorrow and continuing through March.

Tips on care of clothing will be the topic of talks before civic organizations and women’s groups sponsored by the Erie County Chapter, Neighborhood Cleaners Association, Kenneth Feibelkorn, president, said today.

He warned persons who do home dry cleaning of the extreme danger of ruined clothing because of lack of knowledge about the properties of the man-made fibers.

He said the “revolution” in the fabric-making business in the past 15 years has made inadequate “the standard home-acquired knowledge of how to care for cotton, woolen, linen and silk.”

Dr. Dorothy Siegert Lyle of Washington, director of consumer relations for the National Institute of Dry Cleaners, will visit Buffalo in conjunction with the educational campaign.
