County Approves Architect’s Plans for New Library

The Board of Supervisors today moved a step closer to advertising for bids on a new Buffalo & Erie County Public Library.

It approved the Capital Improvements Committee’s recommendation to accept final plans prepared by James W. Kideney & Associates and Harbach & Clark, architects. The board authorized the clerk to advertise for bids when the property is acquired.

Condemnation proceedings are in abeyance, pending negotiation with owners by a special committee of the supervisors. A report from this committee is expected next week, enabling the acquisition to proceed by either purchase at a negotiated price or condemnation.
