County to Join Fight on Rabies

Erie County was allied with the state today in efforts to combat “the serious rabies threat.”

This was the description of Supervisor Leland G. Joyce Holland in successfully asking for passage of a resolution for county participation in the State Department of Conservation plan to control rabies in wild life. This will make the county eligible for state aid.

The supervisors also approved the request from the county laboratory director that Dr. Joseph Juleo receive final training in rabies diagnosis April 11-15 at the New York State Division of Laboratories and Research in Albany. This will accredit the county laboratory for rabies diagnosis.
