Dear Mr. Buell:
I saw your story about me, so I will let you see my story about you. I really didn’t think to tell you the incident referred to paragraph two, but I must admit I am glad I forgot it.
Sincerely,
Robert Riegel

Dear Mr. Kirchhofer:
It was very nice of you to take time in a busy life to write me upon my retirement as a teacher.
I have told on many occasions how the Times, with no method at all, produced the best pre-election poll for the Presidential election, how the Courier came out second-best with a poor method, and how I provided the News with the worst estimate but the most “scientific” poll. I have atoned for my error by never participating in another poll from that day to this.
I liked Mr. Buell’s story about me very much. I think he did an excellent job and made dull material sound newsworthy. If I had known such a good article could be written about me I might have retired sooner.
I certainly appreciate your kindness in bestowing upon me such kind words and good wishes.
Sincerely,
Robert Riegel
