Mrs. Betty Lozinski and her 10-year-old son, Karol, left Greater Buffalo International Airport for New York City at 11:45 this morning — lifted into the air as much by the strong, kind hands of friends as by the thrust of powerful engines.
Their flight, which will continue to Manchester, Eng., will take them to the funeral of Mrs. Lozinski’s mother in Yorkshire Monday.
University of Buffalo students and fellow workers who know Mrs. Lozinski as manager of the snack bar in Tower Residence Hall provided the money for the trip. About 1100 of the 1400 students on campus contributed to the fund, begun when it was learned Mrs. Lozinski would be unable to attend the funeral.
