Albert Gradl and Assistant Have Completed Big Task of Planting 1800 Bulbs in Area
Flower beds at County Hall and the County Jail will be a riot of color this spring when more than 1800 tulips and hyacinths come into bloom.
The planting of the bulbs was finished this week by Gardener Albert F. Gradl and Frank Ciapollo, his assistant.
The main planting consisted of 400 each of Keiserkroon and White Hawk tulip bulbs on the Delaware Ave. side of the Hall and 500 De Witt bulbs on the side facing Franklin St.
Darwin tulip bulbs will beautify the smaller beds. More than 100 Prince of Austria bulbs were planted in beds in front of the jail.
Hi-Y Assembly Follows Parliamentary Rule Closely
The niceties of Parliamentary rules seldom are as meticulously observed in the Board of Supervisors chambers as they were Wednesday during the Hi-Y Youth & Government Assembly sponsored by the YMCA of Buffalo & Erie County.
A sharp rap of the gavel interrupted any delegate who began his remarks without a prefatory “Mr. Speaker.”
No word by the chairman was necessary. The gavel rap quickly brought the proper “Mr. Speaker” opening. Then remarks were in order.
